Family Planning and Women's Health services focus on vital health issues including reproductive health and breast and cervical cancer. Services are funded in part by the Arizona Family Planning Council and Arizona Department of Health Services. Services are offered through the Health Department's Neighborhood Offices.
Family Planning Services
 
Services are provided by medical professionals and are designed to meet your needs. Fees are based on income. All services are confidential.
The Pima County Family Planning Program is funded in part by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services through the Arizona Family Health Partnership.
Frequently Asked Questions
FEMALE SERVICES (click on female services tab below)
- Females who have no medical insurance or whose medical insurance does not cover Family Planning and are within age and capable of having children are eligible for services
- Teens are welcome, no parent permission is needed
MALE SERVICES (click on male services tab below)
- Males who have no medical insurance or whose medical insurance does not cover Family Planning, and or STI Testing and are within age and capable of having children are eligible for services
- Teens are welcome, no parent permission is needed
TEEN SERVICES (click on teen services tab below)
There are four ways that teens can get service:
- Making an appointment at any of our family planning offices
- Coming to Project C.O.N.T.A.C.T.'s walk in clinic on Monday or Friday
- Being a student at any of Sunnyside Unified School District’s high schools
- Making an appointment
Teens do not need parental permission to come to Family Planning or Project C.O.N.T.A.C.T., however parental involvement is encouraged.
Teens that have no medical insurance or do not want to use their parent’s insurance and are confidential patients are eligible for Family Planning and Project C.O.N.T.A.C.T service.

At Family Planning, women can get:
Birth control methods – Family Planning offers the following methods: Birth Control Pills, Diaphragm, Intrauterine Device (IUD), Depo Provera Shot (DEPO), Condoms (supplies and information on the correct use of condoms) and Cycle Beads (Natural Family Planning)
Emergency contraceptive pills – Emergency contraceptive pills (ECPs) also known as the morning after pill) are available at our offices. If taken within 72 – 120 hours of unprotected sex (a condom breaks, pills are forgotten), they can greatly reduce the risk of pregnancy.
Pregnancy testing
Breast exams – If abnormalities are detected, referrals are given to the Well Woman HealthCheck program or to the Tucson Breast Center.
Pelvic and Pap smear tests – Family Planning offers yearly Pap and Pelvic exams for its clients.
Abnormal Pap smear treatment – If the results of your Pap Smear are abnormal, Family Planning will refer you to their Colposcopy Clinic or suggest a treatment plan according to each patients needs
Sexually transmitted infection testing and treatment. Remember, many STIs have no symptoms
Counseling and education - we want to give you all the information you need to make educated and healthy choices for your family planning needs.
At Family Planning, men can get:
Condom supplies and information on the correct use of condoms
Information and counseling on birth control methods, including vasectomy (male sterilization), and information for your partner
Emergency contraception (if a condom fails or no condom was used)
Info on HIV and how to prevent getting it.
Info on sexually transmitted infections, testing and treatment. Remember, many STIs have no symptoms
Info and counseling about testicular cancer and prostate health.
Counseling and education - we want to give you all the information you need to make educated and healthy choices for your family planning needs.
At Family Planning, teens can get:

The Juvenile Detention Program offers family planning services to at risk youth in temporary custody of the Juvenile Detention System.

Project C.O.N.T.A.C.T
Project C.O.N.T.A.C.T provides quality reproductive health care to eligible teenagers at little or no-cost. The program focuses on reaching youth who are homeless, at risk of being homeless, or are high risk for pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections. All services are confidential, non judgmental, do not require parent permission, and are provided on a walk-in basis. Appointments are not necessary.

Well Woman HealthCheck
Well Woman HealthCheck (WWHC) offers breast and cervical cancer screening to under-insured or uninsured women, age 50 and older. Women with symptoms of these cancers, and women who have had a tubal ligation can receive services regardless of age. Services are provided through a network of local providers and Health Department clinicians.

Community Education
